Count Down to the 30th Annual Poker Run

Count Down to the 30th Annual Poker Run

An awesome opportunity to support a great organization is zooming in your way this Saturday! If you like meeting new people, snowmobiling/atving, having fun and giving back to the community, then our 30th Annual Poker Run is for you!

For many people, our Poker Run held annually at Haliburton Forest is something to look forward to year after year! Festivities, friendly competition, old and new friends, warm food and prizes to be won are just some of the highlights that come with this massively popular fundraising event for the Haliburton Fire Services. For staff, our favorite thing about the Poker Run is seeing people come from all over North America. We have participants come from as far as Florida! We love knowing that the money raised is going to a great cause.

Throughout the years we have raised enough money to help the Fire Department purchase important equipment for fire rescue and safety, including a snowbulance in 2011, which helps if there are ever any accidents in snowy conditions that are unreachable by car.Poker Hand

So what does that mean for riders or visitors not participating in the Poker Run?

Well, there will be a lot more people here than usual! But don’t be shy! Meet new people, chat and learn more about their story. Some people just enjoy the energy of the Forest on the day of the Poker Run, and love to come and meet everyone who is participating! You may notice some congregation around the Seminar Building here in Base Camp, or at the shelter cabins out along the trails. Our shelter cabins have been converted into checkpoints for this event, complete with hot food for participants, while the Seminar Building will serve as the main hub for prizes and cards being drawn. Our first place prize is a brand new 2019 MXZ 600 Skidoo!

20180210_140945The 30th annual Poker Run is almost here, and with 100 prizes to be won, why would you miss out? There’s still time to register for the fan favorite activity. Admission is $70+ tax per person, and trail passes are included. Cards will be drawn throughout the day, while the winner will be announced shortly after 5 PM at the Seminar Building. Checkpoints at the warm up huts will be shutting down at 4 PM, so that participants have time to return to Base Camp for their cards to be drawn and winner to be announced. Registration is from 8 AM to 2 PM at the Main Office. We look forward to seeing you Saturday, February 9th!

Please Note: Parking may be challenging, however it is not impossible!
