The Importance of Couples Retreats

Couples who travel, vacation and play together tend to stay together. Couples have better communication and intimacy when they share the experience of a romantic getaway. It’s a reminder of why they are together and what they love about each other. At Haliburton Forest, with so many outdoor adventure activities, couples retreats can also inspire partners by demonstrating what they are capable of together.

Haliburton Forest grows along with your relationship. Just as your love adapts to the seasons of life, our activities change with the seasons of nature.

Forest Accommodations for Couples Vacations

Camping

Bring your tent or trailer to camp in an extensive network of semi-wilderness campsites on 17 of 100 lakes. Situated directly on a lakeshore, campsites are well-spaced and private, and without back lots, so they are often out of sight of any neighbour: perfect for long, uninterrupted conversations, so you can dream and make plans for your shared future. Sites are equipped with a picnic table, fire pit and outhouse, but no hook-ups or other services. This concept represents a successful blend of wilderness camping (Algonquin Park style) and camping as it commonly occurs at organized campgrounds.

Holiday Units

Stay in one of our 12 fully furnished, cozy holiday units. These accommodations were originally used by 19th-century loggers and have now been refurbished. They are ideal vacation rental units for couples who want to spend some quiet time together in the forest. With kitchens or kitchenettes, you can cook for yourself or enjoy a romantic meal out at The Cookhouse licensed restaurant on site.

Haliburton Forest accommodations can fill up quickly. But don’t worry—you can still have a romantic retreat. Visit the Forest during the day and stay at one of the many great accommodations in the Haliburton Highlands. Simply book accommodations at a cozy B&B or cabin rental nearby. Check out Stouffer Mill B&B, Sunny Rock B&B, Oakview Lodge, Ogopogo Resort, or Safe Haven Resort. If you prefer a chain hotel experience, you’ll appreciate Pinestone Resort and Conference Centre.
