What a stellar weekend. Mother Nature could not have been kinder. Snow Friday, cold temperatures Saturday and even more snow Sunday! Thanks to Mother Nature and our dedicated and passionate grooming crew trails are in incredible shape even with the amount of traffic they saw.
The Poker Run this year saw over 600 participants! This is the most we’ve hosted in over ten years. With your help we raised $20,000.00 for our local Fire Department helping them to purchase equipment that in turn keeps them safe and their rescues efficient. In the past they have purchased gear such as jaws of life, rescue boats, snowmobiles, and trailers, as well as essentials such as rescue ropes, etc…
We want to thank everyone who came out to make this an extremely successful event and for your patience while we put through an extra 200
people over previous years. We know where we need to tweak our efficiencies and will for next year to get people through the card dealing line a bit quicker. But overall everyone was excited and had a great day!
The winning hand was the second last hand dealt of the day. Full House: Three Queens and two 2s. The extremely happy Sandi from Cambridge and her husband were over the moon to be bringing home a new sled.
This event would not have been possible without the great help of our community and incredible prize donours. Check out our post on Facebook for more pictures https://www.facebook.com/HaliburtonForest/
